Bachelor of Science in Nursing ranks #3 in Virginia and in Top 100 nationally

According to the latest rankings from U.S. News & World Reports, the School of Nursing Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) ranks among the top programs across the nation. The BSN climbed 16 spots to rank #98 in the 2026 U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges Rankings—placing 76th among public universities nationwide and 3rd in Virginia.   

"This achievement underscores our leadership in interprofessional nursing education, commitment to innovation, and impact on the health of the region,” said Terri Rebmann, divisional dean of the School of Nursing. George Mason has identified human health and preparedness are core priorities in the Grand Challenge Initiative, which underscores the vital nature of an integrated, interprofessional approach to health and medicine. The School of Nursing is housed within the College of Public Health. 

The School of Nursing offers multiple pathways to complete the BSN for students coming from diverse backgrounds and work experience. The program boasts an interdisciplinary, comprehensive curriculum delivered by leading clinical and instructional faculty. Students gain hands-on knowledge in the interactive Lab for Immersive Technologies and Simulation to deepen their critical thinking and problem-solving skills in a low-risk environment. Graduates enter the field with interprofessional clinical and community health knowledge, ready to address current and emerging health care challenges.
