September 9, 2014 - Alison Evans Cuellar, PhD, Associate Professor of Health Administration and Policy in the College of Health and Human Services, received funding from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation for a two-year project titled: “Differential Effects of Prevention Efforts, Behavioral Interventions, and Alternative Sanctions on Juvenile Justice Youth Outcomes.” This study will examine the impact of alternative interventions, such as behavioral health and community restitution approaches, that target vulnerable adolescents who are either at risk or are currently in the juvenile justice system. In this project, Dr. Cuellar will evaluate if these alternative approaches contribute to long-lasting societal gains and thereby reduce the likelihood of juvenile offenders repeating violent behavior later in adulthood.
